11. Hiccups! 打嗝

旁白（Peppa Pig介绍）：

I’m Peppa pig.我是佩奇。

This is my little brother, George.这是我的弟弟乔治。

This is Mummy Pig. 这是我的妈妈。

And this is Daddy Pig. 这是我的爸爸。

Narrator: Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy are having breakfast. 佩奇 乔治 爸爸和妈妈正在吃早餐。

It is a lovely, sunny day. 今天是个阳光明媚的日子

and Peppa and George can't wait to go into the garden to play. 佩奇和乔治迫不及待想去花园里玩了。

Peppa Pig： Mummy, please, can we go out to play? 妈妈我们可以出去玩了吗？

You can go out to play when you finish your breakfast. 等你们两个吃完早餐就可以出去玩啦。

Grandpa Pig： George! Don't drink your juice too quickly! 乔治 果汁不要喝得那么快！

Narrator: George drank his juice too quickly, 乔治果汁喝得太快

and now he has hiccups. 结果现在开始打嗝了。

Peppa Pig： Can we go out to play now, Mummy? 我们现在能出去玩了吗妈妈？

Mummy Pig： Not while George has hiccups. 不行，乔治还在打嗝呢。

【hiccup [ˈhɪkʌp]打嗝】

Peppa Pig： But George's hiccups have gone, Mummy. 乔治的打嗝已经好了妈妈

Haven't they, George? 你好了吗 乔治？

Mummy Pig： Oh, alright, you can go out and play. 好吧 你们两个可以出去玩了

But look after George. 但要照顾好乔治。

Narrator: Peppa and George love playing in the garden. 佩奇和乔治最喜欢在花园里玩了。

Peppa Pig： George. I'm going to throw the ball, 乔治，现在我先来扔球。

and then you have to catch it. 你一定要接住它才行。

George, please stop hiccupping! 乔治，不要再打嗝了！

George! Now you throw the ball to me, 乔治，现在轮到你来扔球。

and I have to catch it. 由我来接住球了。

George! 乔治！[乔治因为打嗝不小心把球扔到了佩奇头上]

Narrator: Oh, dear, George's hiccups are spoiling the game. 哦不好，乔治的打嗝让他们没法玩了。 【spoil [spɔɪl] 破坏 过去式spoilt 过去分词spoilt】

Peppa Pig： George... I know how to cure hiccups! 乔治 我知道什么能治好打嗝

You have to do what I say. 你就照我说的去做。 【cure [kjʊr] 治愈】

Rub the top of your head and rub your tummy! 你在挠头的同时按摩你的肚子

Good! Now your hiccups have gone! 很好！现在你的打嗝治好了

Narrator: Peppa's cure for hiccups doesn't seem to have worked. 佩奇治愈打嗝的良方看来不太管用。

Peppa Pig： George! You have done it all wrong! 乔治 你的动作不对！

I know a better way to cure hiccups! 我知道另一个办法能够治好打嗝。

First, jump up and down three times... on one leg! 首先，你要上上下下跳三次，要单腿！

Now... Wave your arms up and down 然后，再上下摇摆你的手臂。

and stick your tongue out! 还要把舌头伸出来！

... And now... close your eyes, 现在呢，把眼镜闭上。

and turn around quickly, three times! 再快速地转圈圈，要做三次。

Narrator: Peppa's new cure hasn't worked, either. 佩奇的新方法还是不管用。

George still has hiccups. 乔治现在还在打嗝。

Peppa Pig： I know! 我知道啦！

To cure hiccups, the ill piggy must be given a shock! 想要治好打嗝，那你就必须要受到惊吓才可以。

George, I'm going to scare you. 乔治，我要来吓唬你咯。

But you must remember, it's only a game. 但是你要记住这只是一个游戏。

And it will stop your hiccups. 是为了让你不再打嗝。

Remember, this is just pretend scaring. 一定要记住，我只不过是假装在吓唬你

George： Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Mummy Pig： Peppa! You mustn't play so roughly with George! 佩奇，和乔治玩的时候不能这么粗暴啊！

He's only little. 他还那么小。

Peppa Pig： Sorry, Mummy. 对不起，妈妈。

I was just trying to stop George's hiccups. 我只是想让乔治能够不再打嗝。

Narrator: George's hiccups have gone! 乔治的打嗝治好啦！

Here comes Daddy Pig, 这时爸爸来啦

With two beakers of juice. 带来了两杯果汁。【beaker [ˈbiːkər] 塑料杯 纸杯】

Mummy Pig： George! If you drink too quickly, you will get hiccups again! 乔治，你喝得那么快，等一会儿又要打嗝啦！

Peppa Pig： I'm not as little as George. 不过我可比乔治要大多啦

I can drink juice as quickly as I want to! 所以我可以想喝多快就喝多快！

[结果佩奇也开始打嗝了，把大家逗得哈哈大笑]

Tips:

1. Has hiccups

George飞快的喝完了果汁，然后开始打嗝了。George drank his juice too quickly, and now he has hiccups.

Has hiccups打嗝。hiccups用的是复数，说明是一直不断的打嗝。

2.Stop hiccupping

Peppa和George在花园里玩球，Peppa说，George, please stop hiccupping. 乔治,请不要再打嗝了。

Stop hiccupping是停止打嗝，不要再打嗝的意思。stop后面记得接doing sth.哦。

3. Spoil

George一边打嗝，一边把球抛到Peppa的头上，搞得Peppa非常生气。Oh, dear, George’s hiccups are spoiling the game. 天哪，George打嗝把游戏都给搅了。

spoil是宠坏、破坏的意思。Spoil the game把游戏弄得没法玩了。

4. Rub

Peppa想到治打嗝的好办法了。Rub the top of your head and rub your tummy. 揉一下头顶，再揉一下肚子。

rub是摩擦、搓的意思。

5. Play so roughly

roughly是大概的、粗暴的的意思。Play so roughly with George，粗暴的跟George一起玩。

6. As little as George

as...as...句型，...和...一样。Not as little as George年龄比George大，as quickly as I can能喝多快喝多快。
